15 Pounds in a Month

In the past 2 & 1/2 months, I managed to gain a little over 15 pounds binging on chocolates and candies and other unhealthy processed food.
I feel sluggish and depressed all the time and my clothes need a little more effort to put on.
I'm afraid I'll get diabetes in a few years time, as both sides of my family has a long history of the disease. I've been attempting to diet for weeks now, but I end up eating even more than before.
I want to be able to get a head start on this new and healthy lifestyle I plan on living, but since I've failed so many times in my attempts before, I was wondering if you guys could support me just to keep me pushing 'til the end of my 14-day water fast.
Is it true that I can lose 15 pounds through fasting? I was hoping to get back to my normal size a month from now too when I'm going to see all of my family and friends.
I'll update you on my progress. Do leave me some tips if you have any. :)
