Add taste to the water with no calories
by: PlaceboZA

I know this is an old post, but hopefully this helps somebody else with the issue of getting sick of the taste of water...

Try rooibos tea for flavour and stevia for a little sweetness. Both of them are zero caloric, and rooibos is packed with anti-oxidants.

WATER FAST - DAY 32
by: MsAdah

I am on day 32 of my water fast and I am feeling sick to my stomach. I drink more water to wash out the ill tste in my mouth as well. I recognize it's getting harder because I am so close. This last phase (Phase 4 (days 31-40)) is SO hard!! Lately, I've been having dreams about food and to see anything delicious and food related is pornographic. I know I need to stay focused I am so close. I won't be broken!

I plan on transitioning very slowly with lots of soups...very simple vegetable soup, salad, steamed veg. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Overcoming your obstacles
by: Phil

1 Try drinking a lot more water, even up to 4 5 litres a day. This helps the detox process.
2 Get an aneama pump and pump out your bowels every day. What's in their gets stuck as the colon goes to sleep and your body feeds on it, contributing to the bad mouth experience.
3 Most important, get to know that you are spirit living in the body you are wearing and it is the body that is hungry and trying to fool you to get you to eat. You will see that it is a much bigger swine than you ever expected.

To Water Boredom
by: Suzanne

Ok, as far as the bad taste on your tongue..that has to do with the phase you are at with fasting. Brush your tongue with a soft toothbrush. When you enter a phase called Ketosis...you have horrible bad breathe and bad tongue. All I know to do is to gently brush your tongue. Chew on sugar free gum.

As far as your question "have the hunger pangs worn off yet?" My answer is yes and no. Yes that I am not hungry anymore and my stomache is not growling. But NO because my brain thinks its hungry sometimes...and I feel like eating...but its not a true hunger...just in my head. Physiological is all. Its something I have to deal with on occasion. It has gotten much easier.

Thank you!
by: Moira

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. Like you I am also doing this water fast for health reasons as well as weight loss. I have had a really unhealthy relationship with food also, binging and over eating trying to convince myself that it doesn't control me. I want to break the cycle and feel that I could gain so much health wise from this fast too. I am really determined to stick to it this time - so here goes day 1. again. Do you still get the hunger pangs or have they worn off yet? If you have any tips on how to get rid of the horrible taste in your mouth that would be great as I think this is the main reason I fail as it makes me feel really sick. Once agin thank you, its really inspirational to hear from people like yourself who are so far along in their fast and seeing/feeling such good results.
Love to hear how you are going as you near the end of your fast. Thank you again.

water boredom
by: Suzanne

I am on day 27 of my 40 day water fast. I agree water gets Extremely boring!! I have helped myself a lot by putting it it the freezer until its icy. I can drink it that way. I also drink (occasionally to shake things up a bit) seltzer water. I drink plain, carbonated water. NO vitamins, minerals, sugar, calories or flavor are added. Just water that has had air forced into it.
At the beginning I drank wi-yu oolong tea--but stopped because it has caffiene in it--and well besides losing weight, I would like to get other benefits from this fast. And YES I have lost weight! Hurray! I have lost 29 pounds. I am so happy about that. My blood pressure is normal now, and I had a physical with blood work done recently--and the doctor said I was very healthy! Yeah. My regular medical doctor would of fallen over dead if I had told him what I had been doing!

Try to get your mind OFF food. Talk a walk, or go read a book, or go get your hair done. I used to surf the internet all the time reading about fasting--but that made me hungry so I stopped doing that so much.

You can do it--If I can - anyone can. I was the worst when it came to binging and eating all kinds of bad crap. I used to wake up in the middle of the night to eat ice cream or if we had it ice cream sandwiches--and I would eat more than one. Or cookies, cake - whatever.

I feel like I finally have control over food and it does not control ME. That is my start on having a healthy life, and a healthy relationship with food. Oh yes, we all have a relationship with food--some good and some bad.

I want food to Not be on the front burner but the back burner. One I think of occasionally--but not one that rules my life.
