8 Days and Counting

I began my 21 day water fast Sunday November 28, 2010 and though fasting is not new to me fasting strictly on water is.
My excitement overwhelmed me and was directed to this website which provided everything I needed to feel secure in going forward with the fast.
I must say that it's been beautiful so far. I have not had any complications. No hunger pains, toxic reactions and all seems well. However, I should confess that I am vegan and primarily raw.
I am fasting for spiritual enlightenment. Still I've had to continue to participate in my daily life interacting with others who eat, drink and desire to be merry.
It's the holiday season and every gathering has food. Like last night I went to a childhood friend's birthday party and there was literally too much food.
I was asked more times than I can remember did you get something to eat? I simply said, "I'm fine", and continued to drink water with a fresh lime. Phew! I got through it. And that's what I'm talking about today is the Power of commitment.
Once you make up your mind and prepare your body for the fast your body will love it. The only discomfort I am noticing is that my body is not producing the normal body heat to which I am accustomed.
I am not the warm bodied person that many of us are to begin with meaning my hands are always cool. But during the fast I feel the coolness on legs. I think it's the circulation that's slower.
Second I tend to feel the weight of movement in the morning while in a hot shower so as I complete the shower I close with 3 minutes of cold water.
That gets my heart pumping and blood flowing and actually creates heat in my body as it invigorates me. It's an energy boost and pick-me-up.
I'm ready to face the day after that. I drink Kagen water and Spring mineral water and that keeps me full. I consume about a gallon and a half a day.
Urination hasn't been annoying but I expect to go not soon after I've drank 16 to 32 oz. intervals. Finally , I keep a journal of each day, writing about my emotions, my thoughts and the physical experience along this 21 day journey.
