It Happens
by: Going2Fast

I have done 2 long fast this past past winter both adding up to 72 days. I did drink juice made of lemonade, ginger, & raw aguava. I was in school at the time & needed the extra energy but eventually i only took sips here and there when i was feeling a little sluggish. I did drink water throughout the day though. That horrible taste & coating was there but soon left & i did feel nausous on my 2nd fast for a few days. Its normal because your body is eliminating toxins. If you get drunk you will most likely feel like throwing up or just throwing up because your body is getting rid of those toxins. Same with fasting. I am now on a short water fast & my mouth has a horrible metal taste in it & certain teeth hurt but thats because of the extremely toxic metal fillings that i need to remove. I am also feeling very nausous but i drank some seltzer water & it helped calm that down. Fresh ginger tea is very helpful too. However if your using mouthwash with floride you are totally defeating the purpose of the fast. Floride is horrible and VERY toxic. Chewing sugarless gum is also NOT good especially if it has artifical sweeteners that cause CANCER. You will be totally defeating the purpose of your fast. Another thing is the cosmetics that you may be using most are loaded with chemicals including deoderants, soaps, etc. Your skin abosrbs these Toxic products and your body has to fight them off. If it gets too hard for you Safely go off your fast, eat only raw veggies & fruits for a week or 2 and then try it again. Good Luck :)

bad taste in mouth
by: Zimiri

The distilled water will cause to fast a detox in some people. Purified is best, you can actually strip precious minerals out of your body with distilled.
I am a LPN and have experienced this my self, I ended up in the ER due to potassium and sodium loss. The MD said distilled H2O is not the way to go.

answers based on my experience

When i fast i get a bad taste in my mouth, i heard it's because when you fast your body is releasing toxins, it's an unpleasant side effect but means your body is cleaning itself out. I chew sugarless gum to combat the bad taste. I don't know of any natural alternatives unfortunately. As for nausea if you're allowed herbal tea on your fast, peppermint or ginger tea can be soothing to your stomach. I like chamomile tea as well, it has a calming effect and can work sometimes for nausea as well. I hope this helps.
