Binging
by: Rev John

You Might try the Master Cleanse fast. You can stay on it longer than a water fast, and you will have the energy to do normal activities. Look up EFT on the net and learn how to use it for cravings and binging. It's free to learn and it works great in controlling bad habits. Rev John

Suggestions to begin Fasting for weight loss
by: Anonymous

I have fasted for spiritual purposes but never for weight loss specifically. I am 5"5 and 260 pounds. I lead a high stress life and have been diagnosed with low blood sugar as a result of the stress. I am only 30 years old an really want to change the direction my health is going. How should I fast how long and with what?

Addiction
by: David

Hello. I have struggled with this for years and just recently believe I have a handle on it (so far). Three (3) days is a good start, but in my experience, you will need to add a couple of days at least! The first 72 hours will pretty much clear your system, but then the withdrawls will kick in and you may end up binging and feel even worse than when you started.

Maybe you should take a stab at five (5) days, break it carefully and then if you have control at that point; great! But if you do go back to the cravings or happen to compulsively eat again...stop immediately and try the five(5) day or longer cycle again. I am no expert, I am just speaking from the experience I have recently gained through trial and much error. I have just worked myself up to a 40 day attempt (mine is more for spiritual benefits this time) and I am excited and convinced that I will be successful!

I don't know if this is helpful, but I wish you the best of luck; you are not in this alone.

Compulsive Eating /Low Serotonin Levels

I am a Clinician who battled bulimia for 15 years and now treat clients with Eating Disorders. 5 - HTP is a miracle Amino Acid. Stops the binging and obsessions. Get the book the Mood Cure by Julia Ross. It's an answer to prayer.

God Bless You

You're not alone!
by: Melissa

Hey there! I'm having the same issue. I've struggled with OCD and a fear of food then all of a sudden started binge eating once my ocd fear subsided. My binges are quite similar, they an consist of a pint of ice cream, a box of cookies, a pizza, a bag of nuts, a chocolate bar, etc and I just eat and eat to I absolutely cannot anymore. I'm about 5'4 and 104 lbs but food has taken over my life and I really want it to stop. I'm seeing psycho therapist and a raw food coach I will start seeing next week. I'm planning on doing the same thing you are. 3 day water fast, followed by a 3 day juice fast. Then slowly learning to rework my relationship with food. Be strong! I don't know if you are religious or not but we can do all in christ who strengthens us!!

The same road
by: Cecelia Knox

My binges consist of the same as you listed in your blog; so you are definitely not alone. You have my support on your three day fast and a raw food diet afterwards. I plan on fasting on water for 1 week, then on a juice fast for hopefully 20 days. The power is within; with a little motivation, I am sure you can do it!!

Reply: Compulsive overeating & Fasting.

I wish you well on your endeavor. I can tell you from experience that fasting will absolutely help you with your discipline and will heighten your senses. If you can force yourself to go a day without food you can get control of yourself.

The Power is within you. You just have to allow yourself to feel the pain of hunger and if you have to, go lay down and rest. The hunger will subside and when it does you're going to feel so strong (internally).
