Day 4 - Days of Awe Fasting

I have had some rocky experiences on the fast so far. It started out reasonably well, but day 3 was a blue funk, and day 4 brought external stresses at work, etc. Throughout I have been resolute to continue despite the setbacks. Sometimes, BECAUSE of the setbacks.
I have endless admiration for anyone why can go more than a few days. I have only managed it a few times in my life and would really like to do more long term fasting.
In fasting, we are harnessing and reining in the most powerful physical urge human beings have, i.e. the urge to eat.
We are accomplishing a feat of considerable mastery and we should take some satisfaction from that. Nothing worthwhile is easy. (Although I will admit, fasting is a hell of a lot easier than dieting, as many of you can attest, I'm sure!)
Best to all, J
