Thanks so much for the encouragement and the suggestions on how to transition. During my fast, I have done a far bit of research and have decided that a juice fast is my next step.
I must say that this has not been easy (well, I never expected it to be but it has been harder than I thought). The hunger pains have pretty much subsided but what is difficult to deal with is the nausea.
I have experienced this since approximately the 4th or 5th day. It's pretty much all day long. During my two pregnancies, I had the same experience 24/7 for the entire 9 months. Yuck.
I can tell you that this is a real challenge; by the time evening rolls around, I am ready to throw in the towel. I also feel weak. Yesterday, I tried some light exercise and everything seemed so difficult.
Despite the above, there is some good news. I have lost approximately 25 pounds during this 10 day period. No doubt it sounds like a great deal but since I have so much to lose, I expected the first few days to lose lots of water, etc.
Visually, I can not see a difference however, I am able to get into some of the clothes that I could not get into before. Actually, the weight loss helps motivate me when I am feeling sick.
I know that the nausea is part of the detox process but I really hope it subsides in the next few days because I know that I would not be able to complete a 30 day fast feeling sick all the time.
However, today I did find something that helps. Out of desperation, I bought a Carpe Diem Botanic Water. I drank the entire bottle (70 cal, 9g sugars from pear juice concentrate).
While I wanted to be a purist about this, I found the drink really helped with the nausea. I weighed continuing the fast unaided with fasting with a bottle of Botanic Water and decided the water could not be that bad.
Anyway, I am hoping that this magical number of Day 11 will get here and I will find myself nausea-free. We will see.
Wish me luck and good luck to all.

What next? by: Chris
Dawn,
Whatever you've accomplished thus far is great! You're becoming the master of your body, instead of it's slave.
The info I read on this site and others suggests transitioning to a "juice" fast and then a "fruit" fast (solid food), before returning to regular food.
"Regular" food can now be healthier stuff, since you've broken the addiction to "junk". There's plenty of info on balanced eating out there.
Also, for maintenance and health you could continue a 1-day per week water fast. Please, reply to this post and let us know how you're making out.
