Elena's Fast For Health and Freeeeeeedom!!

Hi,

I am new to this site, but not new to fasting, as I have previously completed a 35 day water fast, a 20 day water fast, and several shorter ones.
However, it's been a while since I did it last, and I am now back to my original determination.

I am happy to say that I have finally realized that there will never be a "right" time to do an extended fast, -there will always be interruptions in the form of social functions and so on, and I guess this is ok.

The challenge is to work around those days and make the best of it. I am done waiting for a time of no appointments so that I can fast again.

So here I go. Day one today, and I know I'll be able to continue this fast. Sometimes in the past I have started on day one, and it has been a massive struggle from the first hour. I would wake up in the morning, and feel the weight of the world on my shoulders, and I know by now that this is not the way to start a fast.

Other times, like today, I feel eager and happy, -a little anxious, of course, as I have hunger and headaches and so on to look forward to, but still, -the mood is optimistic and there's joy and appreciation for the times ahead.

I look forward to the clarity, the healthy sleep pattern, the focus, the weight loss, the calm and the ability to be a 100% present. Looking forward to getting rid of the sluggishness of the system, and gaining some energy again.

This fast will be an ongoing thing, with the interruptions of my partner's birthday, a function at the end of the month, and Christmas, but on those days I'll limit my carbs to the absolute minimum, and be very, very careful.

I'll update on this thread daily, and hope to be joined by other fasters along the way. Remember, -the finish line is not the goal, feeling better NOW is.
