Entering Second Day of 3-day (at least) Water Fast
by Katie
(Earth)
I posted something previously, and I had planned on just adding to that post as my fast continued, but it hasn't been made visible yet, so I will just start a whole new thread until my posting goes live.
Anyway, technically, it's not my second day, as I am only in my 21st hour of a 3-day (possibly more) fast, BUT the last thing I ate was yesterday, so this is a whole new day (as in, I went to sleep for the night, woke up this morning) in my water fast.
My understanding is that the body generally enters a fat-releasing/fat burning state about 18 hours after eating. So, I am very happy to report that my body has been in this state for a little over 3 hours.
I did not get on the scale this morning, so I do not know what I weigh. I don't plan to weigh myself until I finish at least three days of fasting, which means, since I started my fast on Friday at 1:00pm, I won't be weighing myself until Tuesday morning.
I am hoping to be somewhere around 155, but I am not sure if that is realistic or not, given that I weighed 161 on Thursday morning, the morning before I started the fast.
I did eat quite a bit on Thursday and even on Friday morning. Time will tell, obviously, what my weight will be after a few days of detoxifying.
I am experiencing hunger pangs right now, but they are not too bothersome. To tell the truth, I actually enjoy them. It is like direct communication from my body.
It makes me feel very earth-mothery/Amazon womanish. :) They started at about 10:00am, about 21 hours into my fast and they've been making themselves heard every 15 minutes or so. Nothing unpleasant.
My thoughts have turned to food a lot this morning--I had to go to the drug store to purchase something, and of course I felt very tempted by all the candy, chips, cereal, etc. that is on display there.
But I didn't buy any food, thankfully, and I just stayed focused on my goal of getting through this fast. There will be plenty of time to eat later!
I will probably post again once I get past 24 hours, as that will be a marker for me. I don't think I have successfully completed a fast past 24 hours in the last 6 months.
