Hey Stan!
by: Kara

Thank you for the vote of confidence! I actually decided to break my fast yesterday after 87 hours and juice for a while. It is COLD and I get cold easily, so it wasn't a very good thing. But, I am still feeling great and getting that clarity I was looking for!

I'm rooting for you!

Kara, your story is familiar and your writing is clear and informative. I enjoyed reading about your experiences. I'm on my first water fast ever, day 7, and I am stunned at how easy it is and how good I feel. I had been addicted to food all my life, but fasting has shown me that it is possible to take control of the situation. Best of luck to you!

By all means! I would love for you to. The first 3 days are the hardest, so if you can make it past those, you should be able to extend for a few days. Yesterday was easy for me, but I woke up today feeling hungry....just downing some water to fill my tummy. It is worth it though! I just keep the end state in mind to help push me.....mental and emotional clarity is what I seek and I am determined to gain it once again through fasting.

If you need ANYTHING at all, please let me know. I am here if you need (or want) to talk. :)

Be sure you drink enough water. A gallon to a gallon and a half is sufficient; distilled is best as it helps cleanse the body due to the lack of minerals and additives; be sure to drink it at room temperature; get a little exercise (even just a short walk or some house cleaning) each day you are fasting; consume your time doing non-food related things; have fun......afterall, your vitality and health is worth purging all the yuck!

:)

May I join you?
by: Jen

Good luck Kara-I wish you great success.

I am also a vegan (about 7 years now), and some of the things you said about still managing to find a way to overindulge on relatively healthy foods is very relatable to me! The nut butter comment cracked me up--I am so there with you. : )

I've tried unsuccessfully to fast a few times over the past 6 months or so--I haven't been able to do it on my own. Unfortunately, food is my drug--and as you said, sugar (in it's various forms) is my primary foe. I know my self esteem and physical health would both benefit greatly from a fast.

Would you mind if I fast along with you (water fast) for 3 days? I think if I have someone to "report" to, I have a good chance of making it this time around. I'm going to start on Wednesday, Dec. 9. If I'm feeling good, I'd like to continue for a few days beyond that, but I'm trying not to set myself up for failure, so I think 3 days will be my official goal.

Thank you and best wishes,
Jen
