Fasting Beginner -- Tips on Getting Over First Few Days?

Hello everyone.

I'm fairly new to fasting. I have tried a few times before, but have always failed. After trying for a few days without success, I finally completed a fast yesterday.

But then I woke up at 3:30 in the morning, and ate quite a lot of bad food. And it continued this morning. Yesterday I felt so energetic and happy.

Today I feel tired and lethargic. I know fasting will really help me, but I can't seem to stick to it for very long.

Any tips on getting over the first few days?

And will it get easier after that?

First Few Days of Fasting

I'll usually mix and match water and juice days. The first day I'll do veggie juice and just drink a lot of water. You can't drink too much water on a fast or I would have done it by now.

The second day and third day I do water fasting. Then for the next 5 days I stick to juice, mostly fruit juices. Then I'll usually finish with 2 more days of water fasting, followed by one juicing day.

I find that the juices keep me quite full and energized, but those extra days of water only thrown in there seem to shed the pounds quicker.

Keep Keep trying! If you remain diligent and keep trying after you have failed, you'll eventually be able to go longer and longer.

Just wait....You'll see.

Eat Lighter At least One Week Prior to Fasting

Hi There!

I have been where you are many times! I found that the best way to begin a fast is to prepare yourself at least one week in advance- the week before you begin the fast, eat VERY lightly all week...no meats, only vegetables and fruit.

If you cant do fresh veggies, you can eat them cooked. If you lighten up the week before, it is a lot easier to start the fast. Also, sometimes a juice fast is the ticket...you can drink vegetable or fruit juice instead of only water.

Believe me.....I KNOW how tough it is to do water only, you will greatly benefit from veggie or fruit juice fasting also!

Don't ever quit trying! You can and will do it!
