Day 2
by: CW

Awesome! I'm so glad to see everyone signing on. Keep fighting!
I'm honored to fast with all of you. Please keep me informed on how you are doing.

Right now I'm in the middle of day two. I'm feeling pretty good. I've been in class all day and the cravings to binge have come on pretty strong all day, especially when i got out of lab. However, I shoved them away as fast as they came. I don't want to live like this any more. This won't be easy, but it will be ssooooo worth it.

Hang in there everyone. Right now I have about 2.5 hours then I go to work one job, then another tonight. Keep me in your prayers. We all need each other.

I can Support
by: Anonymous

Hi,
I am looking for support, too. Although I have lost the weight I wanted to, I need also to declare war on my food addiction and have done so. It is difficult to explain, but although I control what I eat, I still live , miserably, to eat. I wait for meals , to drown my feelings. It is miserable. I do short fasts and they always relieve my misery and my being driven to food, to some extent. Only a longer fast will really heal me. I need to develop my fasting. To this end I have been cleaning up my diet. Tomorrow is my 40th birthday (I hope my age does not put you off) and I determined to make a real start on fasting on that day. But due to my having made a short fast ending just now (earlier than I intended, which makes me feel pretty bad) I feel less motivated to make an effort for this important birthday -- and now I feel totally defeated, really humiliated. Please , if you would, please refrain from telling me not to feel this way... I jsut need my feelings to be accepted sometimes. I am jsut sharing this as my current situation. i feel Ok about sharing since you have also shared.

I really feel the pain of your story. I congratulate you for standing up to the psychiatrist and saying you would not take meds any more. I want to say "it is horrible what the medical people did to you" but I want to refrain from getting into anger... I hope you understand... I just think this is an emotional habit (feeling victimized or victimized on behalf of someone else) that actually drives me to the food for relief. A false relief. But you are right, it takes a lot of strength, and real support, to stop going to that crutch.

Please , if you like, email me at L C A T H F AT G M A I L. com ... I hope to hear from you!
Laura

Day 1 over
by: CW

Great guys! I'd be glad to fast with you all.

My first day went really well. I chased away all the cravings quickly. I just got back from work too and am ready to hit the sack. My energy levels have been good all day and I haven't been hungry either.

I just keep telling myself that I will not be defeatist and settle for being stuck with compulsive overeating or food addiction or whatever you call it, for the rest of my life. I went to an OA meeting today and everyone was so defeatist about it, like they were stuck with the "incurable disease" for life and they just had to learn to cope. They let it define who they are. I'm not gonna drink that Kool Aid just yet, or ever.

Fasting Parnter
by: Jule

Hello,

I am starting a 20 day water fast tomorrow. I am in need of a partner. I am fasting in response to the lack of support for Darfur. And, while I believe in myself and the cause, a partner would help considerably.

Let me know if you or anyone is out there who would like to email for support.

Hi SA,
Thanks for the support. Day 1 is going well so far. Not really any hunger or anything, just cravings that I shove away asap.

I've also started a 40 day water fast today. So far the day is going well. I've fasted before, but only for 10-12 days at a time. It's a long story, but I need to do this so I will check back here from time to time and see how you're doing. Write soon!
