Totally!
by: Andromeda

Hi again..I'm hopeing for the same feeling..and feeling accomplished!

I started my fast today. Well since 10pm last night I guess. My problem is that I fiend for sweets and junk and even healthy foods...I feel if you do not eat the food it will go bad because other will fail to eat it. I don't know but hey I have a big HUGE reason to see this through. I have to....for me. Plus I do need to lose alot of weight also..adn this could jump start my weight loss and get me back on track with my better eatting.

andromeda,

I just recently became successful with fasting, it definitely takes a lot of learning from previous fasts as well as a lot of will power. It is so awesome though how much better you feel after and even during your fast! If you'd like to keep in touch just send me your e-mail address and we can help each other :) Good luck!

WOW
by: Andromeda

Wow again...you all are super!! I have tried to start SOO many times and end up failing every time~ I need some encouragement...I'm so stuck on eating food..I am a food addict I can admit it...I feel that I have to eat the food around me..kinda like I'd be missing out on something. If that makes any sense to all. Food will be there but I just feel like I need to eat it..mostly sweets and junk food OH and coffee drinks. *sigh* I really want to do this so bad...But I fail and say I'll start again the next day...over over and over again. I want to try to rid my body of all this junk and I am trying to lose atleast 50 lb's also.

Good timing!
by: Another Jen :p

Hi, my name's Jen also :). Looks like we've all started fasts around the same time. It's Sat., Oct 31, and this is my 5th day of water fasting.

I've lost about 10 pounds so far, though I'm see no difference in inches, though I know that's normal. The early rapid weight loss is generally water weight. While not necessarily during this fast, my ultimate goal is to lose at least 50 more pounds. I don't have a set day to end this fast, but I would like to shoot for at least 30 days.

I did a 14 day fast less than a year ago, and I did notice the weight loss. (prob 20 pounds at least) I would've liked to continue, but I was beginning to feel really weak and felt it best I listen to my body. I did gain a bit of the weight back, but give and take some fluctuation, I've remained pretty steady in my weight since then. I've suffered no negative effects coming off of it or in the months since.

The first few days are the hardest, the body is cleansing and removing toxins. I've read common side effects are headaches, sometimes lower back pain, and pain in the legs. During the start of my first fast, and right now during this, I'm experiencing headaches and some minor lower back pain, but it passed the first time, and I'm sure it will this time.

Lets keep each other posted on how we're doing! Friends and support make it so much easier, and fun! If you can call a fast fun, haha.

still fasting
by: Halloween-Faster

Hey Jen,

Yes I am still fasting and would still love to have a buddy! I am now on day 5 and have lost a total of 10lbs and can see a major difference!! I'm not sure how much longer I will go, I'm kind of just listening to my body and taking things day by day. One thing I have learned to do is when I think I'm hungry I just take a few sips of water and that seems to make me feel so much better. (hopefully that helps you some) I want to lose at least 6 more lbs before halloween (if possible) so that also kind of affects when I start to ween myself off from the fasting.

Let me know how you're doing!

Fasting Buddy
by: Jen

Hi there--

If you are still fasting I would be happy to be a fasting buddy for you--I was planning on a three-day fast Oct. 28-30, but I think I can extend it through Halloween if that is your plan. That way I won't bail out on your last fasting day! I will do my best--this is still new for me but I think I will have a better chance for success with a partner. My main goal is to regain some perspective about food--to stop using it as a tool for dealing with emotional issues, and to stop giving it so much power in my life. Let me know if you still want a fasting buddy!
