Fasting to Break Emotional Addiction to Food - Day Three - Fasting Buddy Wanted

Hello everyone:

Today is my third day of fasting and I just came across this web page and I am so glad I did because I would LOVE to have a fasting buddy and/or feedback!

This is not my first fast, I have done several fasts but cannot ever seem to make it past the second day. Today is the end of my third day of fasting so I already feel accomplished making it past day 2 and I honestly have yet to feel any hunger pangs.

I do occasionally get a strong urge to break my fast and eat something bad but after drinking some water I realize the urge was only emotional and not physical need for food. I am fasting primarily for weight-loss but also because it always seems to help see things clearer and be in a peaceful state.

As I said, this is day 3 for me and I have lost 6lbs so far. I am hoping to lose 10 more lbs by the end of my fast which will be halloween, in 6 days. That will put me in the "healthy/average" BMI range, which is my goal. The only thing I am worried about is my energy level.

I always seem to break my fast not because I am hungry but because I feel like food is the only way to get the energy I need to keep up with my busy lifestyle.

I am a college student and I also serve tables at a busy restaurant (which requires a TON of energy and also working around food causes temptation).

So I'm just afraid I will not have enough energy to study and obtain information for my classes and I am also afraid I might faint when I pick up a heavy tray with plates on it!

I know I will be able to do this I just need to fight off my fears and my EMOTIONAL addiction to food! If anyone would like to be my buddy or offer some feedback I would really appreciate it!
