Hello all. First I'd like to say thank you to Kiwi and Crazy for the posts. I appreciate the insight, the motivation, and the ideas.

So, I fell off the wagon on day 4, rolled down the hill day 5, and kept falling until today, the 9th of Feb. So, I'm starting over. Today is the new Day 1! I know I can do this because the first three days was kind of easy compared to my expectations of what it would be. Now I know, however, that one simple bite leads to four or five days of binging. No more.

Wish me luck again and thank you again.

You're on the right track

I've never seen any hard fast rules about how much juice to take in during a juice 'feast'. But I believe it's okay to drink as much as you need to stay full and hydrated.

I'm new here and love this site. I didn't know so many people were into fasting. Congratulations on your efforts in eating good foods and exercising, too!

Anyone who reads my posts will soon think I'm a broken record. :-) I direct people search at youtube for a clip called Chocolate, Cheese, Meat, and Sugar. I really want people to understand they shouldn't beat themselves up for stumbling in a fast or a new way of eating. Our bodies are physically addicted to many of the foods we've been sold.

I also tell people who think of giving up to try fasting every other day. You can often have a good start to a fast this way; or choose to continue eating every other day. Your stomach often holds less, so you don't end up doubling your intake on your 'eat days'. That is unless you have a serious binge disorder. You get a sense of control and have a high chance of success. I ended up skipping two days without effort this way. And craving natural foods.

You sound like a busy guy on the right path. I'm here for support for anyone who needs to talk. I'm about 10 days into an extended fast. I'm using my recumbent bike, doing crunches, lots of stretching, and I gotta find that kundalini yoga video! I have been vegetarian since 06; ditching meat was no trouble. I'm addicted to dairy and processed foods. I plan to re-feed with a 60/70% raw food. When I do cook foods, it will be without 'enriched' ingredients (no more white rice, flour, or pasta). Happily, Trader Joe's came to our state and shopping healthy is much easier! I look forward to making a healthy version of one of my favorites- pizza. I also plan to switch out a lot of the boys' unhealthy foods. That will be a creative endeavor!

Good luck!

Day 3
by: SoCal Jeff

Jeff here, it's day 3 and I'm doing great! Yesterday was a little difficult, not bad though. I had the hunger pangs, headache, foggy mental state, and grumpy disposition all day, then I woke up this morning feeling energetic, clear-headed, filled with a new vitality I haven't felt in years. I don't know if it's just a placebo as I'm getting this feeling rather soon in the fast but I'll take what I can get.

I weighed in yesterday at 388 lbs. I'll weigh weekly and update the post. I've been keeping a journal as well, I'll post the entries weekly so you can see my daily progress on a weekly basis.

I do have a question if anyone would be willing to answer. How much juice should I be drinking? I'm currently drinking approximately 110 oz's per day of mixed vegetable and fruit juice. Is that too much?

I'm also drinking about a gallon of water a day which seems to help keep the hunger down. I haven't been hungry at all today except for this morning when I was making the juice for the day.

So far, not too bad. I can definitely see completing a 90 day fast, maybe longer.

Take care everybody and happy fasting.

Thanks!
by: Crazy JoJo

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for your inpsirational post. I have struggled with my weight for years as well. I am on day one of a two-day water fast. I agree that the hunger is not as bad as I thought it would be. I almost hate the thought of eating and awakening my appetite.

Anyway, just to say that my thoughts are with you today and I hope that your juice fast goes well.
