Fruit Diet & Water Fasting - Support & Encouragement Wanted!

Hello all!

I am planning on starting to fast for weight loss and to break my habit of compulsive overeating.
I know I can fast if I drink coffee as I have done this before but I don't want to drink coffee anymore. It gives me jitters and a quickened heartbeat which I know is unhealthy.

I told myself I would start today and I made it from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. I had a couple apples. So today won't be the start of my water fast. I think maybe I need to just eat small amounts of fruit for a few days to get used to the hunger and the lack of energy.

I'm 20, started college and gained 30 (I'm 150) pounds which I have been struggling to lose for the past 2 years. At 5'3'' that puts me in the overweight category, which is scary. I find it hard to lose the weight because I just binge eat.

I don't necessarily eat bad foods either as I am vegetarian and know quite a bit about nutrition. I just eat too much. Even if I eat too much melon, or lima beans, or apples it is still too much. Too many calories that my body doesn't need and therefore get stored as fat.

I also stopped playing sports when I went into college and I attribute that to my lower self-esteem and very low will power. Having a team to support you in sports permeates the whole life, not just sports life and I really miss having that support.

So here I am hoping that some people on this site will support me in my fruit diet and soon to be water fast. I know I just need to stick with this long enough to see results and I will be hooked! Sometimes eating is just fun.

It's a drug to me. I know it gives my brain an endorphin rush but I also know that I can break the cycle.
