Good luck Jenny!
by: Jenny UK

Hi there Jenny your story reminds me so much of some of my own experiences, I am a young 41 and have been overweight for four years now I should be around 9 to 9 1/2 stones at 5ft 3 1/2 but am currently 12 stone this is way to much for me and Am not happy with it at all. I have fasted for 14 days on juice befour and lost 1 stone which was great as i was ligher at the start 11 stone so went down to 10 stone which was ok. I gradually put it all back on as i didnt alter my diet, and as i said before find myself with ideally 3 stone to lose. I have battled with fasting doing 5 days then giving in 3 days ect... it has been going on some time to the point of despair the yoyoing was taking its toll on me mentally and reducing my self esteem each time i fell off the wagon so to speak, to the point i am at now where i find myself at a crossroads and my daughters 18 birthday party on the horizon with all the family being there i am determined to trust in the fasting process and get sexy for this party!! i dont water fast i use juices so i know i can go on with it awhile getting nutrients my body needs from the fruit and vegies i juice. I am on day 2 today and feel like i am just going into fat burn as my hunger is minimal however the emotional urge to eat is hovering in the background constantly this is the one i need to keep a close eye on and has tripped me up manny manny times before. I will take it day by day and trust that as each day goes by i am heading in a more possitive direction which will as you said spill over in to every espect of my life so i can scrug off my old fat self like a snake skin and reveal a beautiful new healthier slimmer, more aware younger looking, happier brighter me, good luck to you i truely hope you acheive your dream of relocating and starting afresh, take care Jenny X

18 day water fast/ with occasional green tea.
by: coco

Hello everyone,
I would just like somewhere to write, and keep in touch with other fasters!!!
Im looking to lose around 30-35 pounds... in 18 days?
is it possible? or am I being a little delusional?

This fast is really important, Im sick of the short satisfaction i get form the junk I eat, The happiness that only last 2 mins after i indulge in the devil foods we all know and love.
Its time to change, I was fit a year ago, and after some personal struggles I have just given up and let myself go...
I know it sounds typical, but I am really here to open a new happier part of my life.. i know that the positive things that come out of this fast will be absolutely fantastic.

Ive done minor fast before longest being 12 days...
and now I feel i am really ready, i am completely determined.
i want to interact with anyone and everyone!!!

i would love to know ur opinions and tips? and anything that can be added to water to reduces the hunger pains... or something to enhance weight loss....
what days did everyone find the hardest??
stay well!!!
and please keep in contact!!!:D

How are you doing?
by: Anonymous

Hi--I'm the other Jen you sent a message to on Oct. 31 (at least I think you are the same Jen) : )

My fast was unsuccessful --I used the excuse of my mom being in the hospital to give it up. I would really like to try again because I feel that it will help me regain control of my life on many levels. I just hate the feeling of letting food control me--overeating should not be my default setting for stress, anxiety, boredom, etc.

If you would like a fasting buddy I could join you for 3 days--I want to start off with a modest goal so that I can achieve it and have the confidence to try a longer fast later.

Hope you are doing well,
Jen

*Sigh*

I'm gonna be obnoxious and post 2 days in a row. Feelin' a little bummed today, only lost 1/2 a lb. I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day, but it motivates me and I like tracking my progress.

I know 1/2 lb's is not a bad thing, but, it's not as encouraging as week 1, lol, I know I just need to stick with it though.

As I start getting through the detox I'd like to try to burn 3600 calories a day so I can be guaranteed that lb, but I know that may be pushing it.

It's just hard when you feel like you have big goals and not a lot of time to reach them ><.

Go go go!! :D
by: Jenny

Thanks so much, the response means a lot to me!!! ^_^ Def keep me and everyone posted on how you're doing.

Those first few days are rough, but hang in there!!!! And always tell yourself once you get through that hard part, it's downhill from there.

I find motivation in the amount of days I've gone so far. I tell myself I've gone this far, don't want to ruin it and have to start over.

We can do it!!! ^_^ Best of luck!

1 Week Down!!!
by: Jenny

Hey guys, this morning was my one week mark and I wanted to check in! To recap, I'm 5'5, my peak weight 1 year ago was 210,

When I started my fast last Tue morning (Oct 27), I was 188. I weighed in this morning to unexpected results. Wanna know what it was?! ^_^

((((drumroll)))

174! :D

That's 14 lbs in 7 days, I was amazed. I know a lot of the early weight loss is fluids and water weight, but still, to see the scale drop that rapidly is an amazing, encouraging feeling.

I know the weight loss will slow down, but I won't lose hope. I just keep telling myself that it's just a matter of time until I see major results.

I hope things are going just as well for all of you out there, good luck fasters!!!
