By the way, I start tomorrow. Only I'm fasting with coconut water. I've done water only before and I've done okay, but I realized that if I drink coconut water ( like Vita Coco, Harvest Bay or O.N.E.) when I get a headache, feel dizzy, or not well I drink a box and feel 100% better. So I will fast with water and only drink the coconut water twice a day....it really helps...I think I'm going to do it 4-10 days....

Hi,

I was at 218 and lost the weight. I currently gained 10lbs but still I weigh 128. Keep going. Don't stop until u reach your goal. Then take a break and start all over.

You look fab! I'm starting out 230lbs so I know I would need to fast for quite a while to get to my goal weight, but you will get there in no time.

Nothing wrong with juice 'feasting'. welikeitraw.com has plenty of testimonies about it. It's a personal choice and preference. Everyone gets something different out of a water fast. Some like feeding their bodies with juice. Some like periods of pure water and the experiences it brings. Everyone has to do what is right for themselves.

WATER - VERSUS- JUICING.

I know water is good for you but why not veg/fruit juicing? I have lost 19 pounds in 13 days on juice fast. With juice you get nutrients and vitamins galore. I juice celery, carrots, apples, red grapes, bell pepper, salad greens, cantalope, etc... Water does not have all that. I know our body cries out for water. I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. I am juicing 3 times a day and drinking herbal teas and lots of water. I get my veggies..I just juice them. Well, I wish you the very best. So glad this forum is on here for support!!!! Congratulations on all the weight you have already lost. You look great.

You've already accomplished a major feat! Congratulations on that. I am on day 10, I think. Fasting has been a part of my life for a long time. But I've only done a few extended fasts (about 28 days). I feel I stopped right when I was feeling the most benefits. From my experience, you have to make sure you're drinking a lot of water. That's been a problem for me in the past because after day 2, I lose my appetite (no hunger pangs, just mental pangs!). And I end up not wanting water. But that's counterproductive because you need a lot of water to flush. If you don't get a good amount of water, your body will hold on to all the fluid it can.

Also I refer people to type in Chocolate, Cheese, Meat, and Sugar at Youtube. People shouldn't feel guilty or think they have lack of control when they deal with physical cravings. This clip explains why. I believe grocery stores, agriculture businesses, and even the FDA doesn't exactly have our best interest in mind. Money is the main motivator to keep selling us hollow foods, despite what it does to our insulin and our brain, etc. Boxed foods true purpose should be for shipping them to poor nations, preserved for the shipment times. But we should still avoid making everything with 'enriched' flours and pastas. What a misleading word. Succeeding after a fast (and even having a good reason to endure it) is dependent upon really know the difference between food and real nutrition.

Hello I was researching 30 day water fasts and I came acrossyour post. I was wondering if you could tell me how much weight you lost in your fasts. I am currently 20 years old. I eat healthy and work out 3-4 times a week and I play sports, but i never lose that much weight. Honestly when you look at my family you can see its because of genetics most of the time. I weigh around 180 and I am 5'4 which is not good and my breasts are large which do bring the wrong attention to me. I am trying to get down to about 140 maybe 135 over a few months, but I am really trying to lose a good 20-25 pounds of that with this 30 day water fast. Please email me if you can...or anyone else for that matter if you have any encouraging things for me, or to tell me your journeys while on your fasts...how much weight you lost, etc...

I'm also starting to fast this week and could use a buddy. I'm 27 and have a very hectic job which tends to take a toll on my body in a variety of ways.

I want to fast to bring myself to a healthier place in life as well as lose some weight.

You can add me on messenger or we can email? I'm feeling very tired today and my legs are a bit sore, but nothing too extreme.

I had my last meal at 10 pm Monday night. I have a food addiction and a few times a month I binge on anything and everything.

I'm hoping this might help me overcome this addiction, but we'll see.

I want to rid my body of all these toxins.

I think of all the garbage I've put into my body all these years and it disgusts me.

Fasting Buddy!

this website because you were hungry and were
trying to not think about it. That is me
right now because I am so hungry.

I have a terrible headache too. I am on day 3 of my fast. I started Sunday night (1-24-10). After making chocolate chip cookies with my daughter and eating I don't know how many, I realized I need some motivation.

I am a 46 year old singe mom. I really don't
know how much I weigh. I never weigh myself.
I am 5'2" and wear size 12-14 jeans. I know
that's is not right. I would love to be in a size
6.

I thought I would be more jittery. I do have headaches that come and go and in the morning, I am a bit shaky. I work a full time
job so that helps.

That's wonderful that you lost 100 pounds. WOW! I am here if you want to talk or just vent. Drinking a glass of water helps with the hunger pains. I hope they go away along with this headache.
