Juice Fasting is Famous for Increasing Sex Drive! by: Anonymous
It is hard to beat sex during a long juice fast.
One of the perks.:-)

Hello! Thanks For The Comments! by: Anonymous
I'm planning on fasting for no less than five days.
We will be visiting my husband's family the week after next for two weeks and fasting while I'm there would be near impossible (and defending my decision to fast would be more than I could handle while I'm there since my MIL is a bit of an armchair MD).
When we return, I'll be shooting for ten days.
I was thinking that breaking the fast the way I did has motivated me to do better the next time and I learned that the food I had been craving didn't taste as good as I thought it would (thank goodness, or all hell would have broken loose!).
I also was motivated to do it in the first place because we're pretty sure I have an ulcer.
I hate going to the doctor and when I had to because of excruciating stomach pain (not belly, stomach), she told me to take Prilosec for two months.
Then if it didn't go away, we would do an endoscopy to see if it really was an ulcer (which probably wouldn't have changed the treatment anyway, what was the point?).
That didn't sound like a cure to me!
So fasting is my self-healing method. I have to go back in for a physical in a month and a half and I want to tell her I didn't need to take her crummy pills.
I took care of it myself and all my tests will show I'm healthier than before. So maybe she should have listened to me when I told her I wasn't comfortable taking proton pump inhibitors.
By the way, do you have any idea the side effects and withdrawal symptoms associated with PPI's?
I had them after only taking it for a month! That's horrendous.
So far, no pain or nausea or vomiting or anything else I was feeling before. Now all that has been replaced with a gnawing hunger. Time to juice...
Congratulations Jen on your successful fast!

You're So Funny! by: Jen M
Hey Tamster!!! I read your new page and you are so silly! I love that you keep a sense of humor about it and also allow yourself to BE exactly where you're at!!!
That's so important because all the good we are doing for ourselves means nothing if we are mentally beating ourselves up for the small failures we encounter. Be kind to yourself!!!
I fasted for 23 days and am breaking the fast for 6 days and then going back on it.
I have been breaking the fast for 5 days total and, according to the guidelines, I've been instructed to take 6 days (because of the number of days I fasted - it is less of course depending on how many days you may fast) to break the fast by eating 8 soaked prunes along with my gallon of juice for the 1st 2 days.
Then, on day 3 and 4 I added fruit and now it's day 5 so along with that I can start eating plain salads.
I can't WAIT to eat an avocado or a cracker or something. But you know what.... I was so excited to just eat the prunes and it was very anticlimactic.
It wasn't as good as I imagined it would be. I guess that's a good thing.... maybe my obsession over food has been broken. Ha!!!
That would be cool!!! Anyway, take care and good luck with your fast.
I will join you again shortly. How many days are you going to fast for by the way?
