One of the things we will discuss in the recipe page is actually mixing the right combination of fruits and vegetables. Vegetables are lower in calories than fruit juices. Almost all kinds of vegetables can be juiced. Some miracle of juice fasting vegetables that you can combine daily are: carrots, parsnips, cabbage, beets, celery, cucumbers, broccoli and burdock root. The leafy greens are: kale, collards, parsley, wheatgrass, lettuces, dandelion, and watercress. Spinach and beet have a very strong taste and should be juiced in small quantities You can also mix them with milder tasting juices such as carrot, celery or apple. Preparing and Storing the JuiceI recommend that you drink the juice upon preparation. However, you can also prepare your juice recipe for more than one day and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours in a glass, airtight jar. There should be minimum air going into the jar because oxygen can damage the juice. Wrap the jar with aluminum foil to blackout all light which can also compromise the juice. Take it out 30 minutes prior to drinking, because it should be consumed at room temperature for better digestion. It is NOT recommended that you turn this into a miracle of juice fasting frozen drink. Add some ice to make it palatable, but not too much! Part of the miracle of juice fasting is actually drinking the juice in "as close to room temperature as possible." Leave fruits and vegetables in room temperature overnight - prior to juice preparation. Seeds: You may alternate grounded sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds. Protein powdersYou can add protein powders. My favorite is whey and rice protein. You can also use soy. Although, recent studies have shown that soy (in large quantities) could block the intestinal tract’s uptake of essential minerals, including calcium and magnesium. This, studies indicate, interferes with zinc absorption and creates a so called “spacey” feeling. With an investment of a few hundred dollars anyone can set up their own juice bar, making the miracle of juice fasting a regular part of their daily diet. Juice extractors can be used with fruits and vegetables. They produce more juice than normal juicer appliances. Bananas: peel skin off. Apples: experiment with a wide variety of red and green ones. Peaches: peel skin off. Pears: cut the stems and juice the rest, including skin. Oranges: keep at room temperature, they give less juice when cold. Roll oranges in hard surface to soften and then cut in half. The best for juicing are; honey tangerine (sweet oranges) of Florida and Valence oranges.
