Maria,
It does sound unusual that in spite of doing one hour's yoga and a ten mile hike everyday that you have not shed any weight at all. Just out of interest you say that you have fifty pounds to lose, do you mind saying what your height and weight are? Lots of people with eating disorders tend to overestimate how large they are so maybe you just aren't as overweight as you think you are..also don't go on the scales all the time but just test your waistband on clothes and see if that has started to slacken?
How do you feel? are you energetic - pleased to have passed the first three days and into the zone of moving into good health or bitterly disappointed that the weight appears to be the same.
Are you socially isolating yourself?
Do your friends and neighbours notice anything different about you? Does anyone close to you know what you are doing and if not, are people suspecting something is amiss with you not shopping for groceries and or going out to eat?
Finally, after all this is the questionnaire to end all questionnaire. If you are sluggish, have you had problems with constipation?
All the above will give a clearer picture of what is going on and I would love you to share some of your will power. You are doing just great!

Thank you very much for your replies everybody. Here are some more information that will hopefully help you better understand the problem.

I am in no way at my optimal weight. I am 50 pounds overweight and my exercise program was the only weight management technique that I used before the fast.

I broke my fast after 20 days of no improvement and now I am on a raw food diet that still has no effect. The funny thing is that now I feel hungry almost all the time, whereus before I was not hungry at all.

I guess I have one of those metabolisms that just dont work? I've been tested for thyroid problems and my doctor said there is no such issue. I will keep trying and hopefully things will get better with time.

Disregard that last comment. I thought these shared thoughts were to benefit members of the fasting community.
I am inclined to go along with the first contributor and suggest that you are already without any excess fat to lose. Is this the case? I have been on several fasting walking holidays and they are marvellous because there is the comaraderie of walking together and sharing a common goal. By walking and enjoying new vistas the idea of food is not even on the horizon and also good to just enjoy the beauty of the countryside. The fact that you have been walking ten miles everyday does suggest that you are already pretty fit. So do share with us all, are you in any way overweight?

Optimal Weight

You must be incredibly thin and at your optimal weight. Otherwise you would be losing weight on a water fast. Also, if you are bloated, go immediately to a doctor, there may be some medical reason for the weight retention.
