Restarting my life

I have used drugs (mostly cannabis) every day for the last 10 years, although I have been clean since February this year (10 months) ive found it hard to motivate myself to change my lifestyle, I dont know if the drug abuse has changed my metabolism or if ive just spent too long doing nothing.
I plan on applying to the royal navy at the start of next year to turn my life around but as I said I dont have the motivation or energy to get myself fit to do so.
ive been living on a perpetual "healthy" diet for the last 10 months with little to no results.
after reading alot on this website im wondering if fasting is the key to kick starting my metabolism and ridding my body of the crap ive put into it over the last decade.
That said I have a few questions and would appreciate any advice at all.
1. Although ive given up smoking illegal drugs for good, i still smoke cigarettes, will this affect the detox in any way?
2. Is exercise a good idea while fasting or not, due to the lack of energy?
3. Coffee is also a big part of my routine, I often experience headaches if I haven't had some for a day or so, even without fasting, are painkillers permitted or not recommended?
these are my main concerns but i would appreciate any advice at all.
Thank you in advance
