Supplementation, Diabetes & Water Fasting - A Pilot's Journey

Hello:

I started water fasting about 30 years ago but in 1999 I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes during a flight physical (I'm a pilot). I was shattered over this, but immediately worked to control it naturally, so far having some success, passing the flight physical.

I also credit my wife for being a constant support for me to stick with the natural control of this chronic disease. Unfortunately, unless it is perfectly controlled, it can cause problems especially if one becomes sedentary, which I have.

I take no medication of any kind for any condition. Usually hypertension can and is associated with Type II diabetes, eye problems, etc.

I also take supplements in powdered form, mixed in tepid water daily in purified water, such as magnesium, taurine, vitamin C, L-carnitine, etc. to keep my heart healthy. I take large doses.

Diabetics tend to be very deficient
in some of the things I mentioned above which in turn causes the many diseases diabetics seem to end up with.

I chose the natural path because of physicians nearly killing me with meds on two separate occasions. My body has been completely free of any medication toxicity for some time now.

My first water fast was 40 days long. Since then, I've done small ones and have done a combined Master Cleanse into a water fast for 30 days just last year.

Even so, and with the benefits I've gained, I am interested in knowing if there is any new information that has come to light about adding some form of supplementation while on a water fast, especially in the form that I take them?

I am making preparation to start a water fast in a few days and it would be helpful if it is possible to supplement, at least with the liquid concoction I drink every morning.

Thanks for the help in this. I wish everyone success in their fasting. Often I've had people look at me in disbelief that I actually fast. They always tell me that it would be too hard for them mentally, to get through it. With me it's like a switch, when I'm ready, I just switch into fasting mode and I'm off.

For many it's not that easy, but with the proper motivation and the proper purpose behind starting the fast, you can succeed. By the way, I'm 64 years old and I hope my experience will be encouraging to some.

The fasting is very beneficial. I also have a FAR infrared sauna which I also use in caring for myself.
