One potential flaw in this method
by: Anonymous

It sounds good but keep this in mind, in just one food setting it's possible to consume 3500 calories and gain a pound.

The way food is packed with calories these days it's easy to gain weight in one meal. With this method you'll have to watch closely the food you eat.

Lite meals it will work perfectly but eating a whole chicken in one meal with all the extras can pretty much blow all your hard work away.

I do that!
by: Anonymous

Hi...
You are the ONLY person I've heard to do whawt I do. I eat in the a.m at 7 and then at lunch and do a 19 hr fast daily til the next day. NO calories after twelve noon...this is an easy method for me cuz the "hard part" is when I'm sleeping, thank you very much! :) I, too, am a teacher and have to eat those hours...I find that even on weekends, however, daytime fasts make me headachy, nauseous, no can do.

How do you ALTER the hours on weekends or when social skills call for dinner? Do you eat breakfast and then dinner? skip lunch? or do you just try to push your window out and not eat at seven? Wait so you can eat later on? this is the ONLY part of fasting that I still struggle with...how long have you done this and has it benefitted for weight control?
I absolutely LOVE this way of eating...love love love it...I enjoy the fast as much as the braaking of it. It totally works for me..I was so excited to read your post and then the teacher part REALLY got me!

Clarification
by: Anonymous

The way I read it is that the teacher eats in the morning and then says she finishes at noon but doesn't eat again until 6a.m.

So the other comments mention your dinner but sounds to be like you are eating something every morning but mornings only.
What happens at weekends when you are not working?

Also am curious as to what kind of breakfast you consume? I guess it would be wrong to call it fasting in the sense that you are not abstaining from food but it surely is a breakfast diet. Breakfast everyday but nothing else.

I guess you must be losing weight and how do you feel and how long have you been eating like this?

all the best to you.

Breakfast and Dinner meals
by: Karen

Well to me it sounds like breakfast and dinner may help you get through that lunch fast easier since those meals are more spread out. I think how you are doing it sounds very good.

One thing I do is fix a protein shake in the morning, not on all fast days of course, but if I need a little added boost of energy and may be doing a lunch only fast I'll fix the protein shake. I try to drink organic types but sometimes the tastier protein powders are not organic.

By the way, my short fasts through the week started out from sunup to sundown on M - W - F (3 days per week) and lately I have shortened the durations from 6am (sunup) to 3 pm, and even just to 12 noon at times.

When my son goes off to college at the end of this month I will be better able to fast much better. I was just talking to him the other day on how "food" has always been my addiction, because my mother used to reward the family with food. If we did well in school, let's order a pizza, etc.

And it made my mom feel happy to reward us like this. I'm afraid I have done the same thing too at times. Although with my first child I was so into healthy eating I fed him that way too and he has always been able to stay slim and fit. But my other child has always stuggled with his weight some, about 15 lbs more than he should weigh.

When I raised him my diet had gotten messed up and I was not as disciplined with food anymore. So it's been off and on struggles with eating all of my life. Fasting makes me feel wonderful though.

I can tell that it really does pull out toxins from my liver that make me feel awful. It really does work! (as you all know in your own lives, I'm sure).

Happy Fasting! :o)

Basically you are eating 2 meals a day....breakfast and dinner.....I would say if you are going to eat 2...then do breakfast and a light lunch....food at night isnt a good idea...unless it's lettuce it just turns into pounds while you sleep. Is ytour goal weight loss?
