Two-Week Fasting - Student Seeking Mental Clarity to Face Mounting Pressure

I have had a high-stress year at school. In addition, there are always a ton of family and social/cultural pressures.
I decided to take an intensive language program this summer when I should have taken a break and gotten a job and focused on enjoying friends and family.
I'm burnt out. I've lost motivation to study, I drink WAY too much with friends (instead of partaking in healthy active activities), and can barely convince myself to get out of bed.
I'm beginning a program at the university next year that could make or break my post-graduate academic career, so further pressures are mounting.
I've decided to start a 2-week fast so that I can re-gain mental focus and clarity by peacefully appreciating what I have and cultivating a mental and spiritual sensitivity that has begun to elude me.
