Water Fasting - Dealing With Food Cravings
by Susan
(Indiana)
Hi Everyone;
I have enjoyed reading many of your entries and now I would like to share some of my own experience.
I am just finishing day 3 of a total water fast. I did this a year ago for 11 days and so I kind of knew what to expect this time around.
I am having a bit of a tough time today with getting fixated on certain foods....seeing it, smelling it, tasting it, etc...I just can't seem to get it away from my focus.
It has happened twice today with two different items. My only relief has been to promise myself that I can have those foods as soon as my 21 days are over. But that seems so weak. I want to cut out the bad stuff...not postpone it.
I have been able to drink one gallon of water each day. I tried to get it all in by 3:00 this afternoon in the hopes that I won't have to get up every two hours all night long, as I have the past two nights.
My side effects are not too bad...sweating, sour stomach, slight head ache, etc...
I am approximately 70 pounds overweight, and much to my delight I have already lost 10 pounds.
But even more than the weight, I long for a clear mind...not fogged with sugar and junk foods.
I wish all of you the very best success! Susan
