some tips
by: osnat

I am struggling for 30 years with binge-fast cycle. the only way to stop binging is to stop dieting and fasting.
The problem of couse is that it is hard to stop fasting since you feel your gain in the previous binge and you want to get rid of it.
try to read Roth Geneen books, it might help

When reading this, I was thankful that I am not alone. Then I got to the comments and seen that even more people then I thought suffer form the same thoughts as me. If any one would like to talk to me or complete a water fast with me just let me know.

Nina,
I really support your idea that a water fast will help you to overcome your food addiction. I just happened to complete a seven day water fast myself and have benefitted in extreme ways. I just wanted to give you a few heads up from personal experience... one thing you can be excited about is that if you hang in their till about your fourth day, I find that "little voice" trying to make you surrender to food pretty much goes away. The body goes into more of a survival mode, trying to conserve energy and by this time your stomach has contracted a little. Because of this though, it is extremely important that once your cleanse is over, you mustn't begin binging or even eating the amount of a regular diet right away because not only will it take you right back to where you started and is very unhealthy, the sudden stretching of the stomach will cause you intense pain. Trust me I've made the mistake in the past myself and paid for it. Try an advance to a liquid diet for a few days and take it slow before moving on to raw solids and so on. Lastly you should really be doing this under the care of a professional, but if not please atleast make sure to do extensive research from sources that are legitimate and make sure to take it easy on your body during. I would recommend stretching but besides that no physical labor and get plenty of sleep. Good luck to you love

i completely understand!
by: Mickey

hey nina, i followed your every word! i felt like i was reading something i'd write. lol.
but i definitely think we are all going through the same thing.
i'm 18, and i have a terrible eating disorder. i mean im trying to water fast, and i've struggled with anorexia for about a year now.
i'm actually alot skinnier than i use to be! good god, i use to weigh 250 lbs when i was a teenager. then i began losing a healthier slower way when i was 16 and the results were so slow that recently ive just been going to extremes!
but the weight keeps creeping back cause just like yall, i'll lose a pound or two then gain it right back.
so im tired of it. im thinking about water fasting seriously.

just one question for you guys? is it pure water fasting? with nothing else? or is it a mix of cayenne, maple, lemons, etc. you get the picture. :)
please email me
amourelemonde@yahoo.com

thanks :)

today is day one. I started this morning at 8am. it is now 8 pm. My mini goal is 10 days, and dammit if i can--i plan to go all the way to 20days....and 40 if i have enuff body fat and energy to sustain it without getting sick..
of course the fat loss is looking veryyyyyyy nice at the moment, BUT it is mostly about getting well and gettting rid of this behavior.... lets kit. KEEP posting my mini twin.
we'll get thru this together!!

I'm on day three (or at least was). This time I did not cave in because of cravings or my weak mind, but because I had really horrible chest pains. I don't know how this could be because I am only 20 years old, but I had very bad chest pains just like somebody who could be having a stroke (probably not nearly as bad though) so I decided to not take the risk. I ate 2 small meals today and I am restarting tomorrow. I'm not going to plan for a longer fast because if I feel this again, I will stop at the spot. I decided that I will go for as long as I can, and if I have to eat a few meals in between every two or three days I will have to deal with that. Nonetheless I still plan to complete at least a total of ten fasting days even if they can't be consecutive. Now, I have 2.5 (2)... Tomorrow the counting will restart, and I will go for as long as I feel healthy.

Good luck everyone!

me too

As I was reading what you wrote, I felt like I as reading my own words. I am in the exact same situation. I began an 8 day fast last week. But all day long on the third day I couldn't get food out of my head and thought that I didn't really need to fast. After getting upset and telling my boyfriend what I had been trying to do, he convinced me I should eat, and I broke the fast. But all I did the past two days was eat and so now I have to start again. I'm starting a four day fast tomorrow, then I have to eat for the next four days be Use I'll be with people and at a wedding. Then I plan on doing another 3 day fast. Want to do it together? Email me! Gingerpiper28@gmail.com
