Weight Loss Success & Relapse to Food Compulsion - Support/Feedback Wanted
by Claudia
(Rio Rico AZ)
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently 29 years old. I had always been very thin and slender. Before getting pregnant at 19, I weighed 119lbs. By the time I gave birth I was at 212. Soon after depression hit and I began drinking again, I had never experienced being so overweight (I'm 4 ft, 11 1/2 inches tall).
With alcohol I began consuming even more sweets and I soon topped the scale at 218 and was wearing between a size 18-22.
Last year, I had enough. I began a rigorous diet and got down too 161 lbs. I was stuck at that weight for over 4 months. I had to get my tonsils removed so I began a fast two weeks before surgery and was able to get down to 156. After the surgery I lost 13 more pounds and continued my fast for an additional 3 months and soon weighed 118.
It seems depression hit again ( by the way I've been sober since March 6, 2009 and am working hard to continue my recovery) but I have gained a little of the weight back. I weigh 128.
You would think that so many months of fasting would have made my stomach small, I don't know if it is my addictive personality but I can eat just as much as when I weighed 218.
Its scary for me, so I've decided to get back on a fast. I start tomorrow, I'm undecided and I need your help, should I fast 4 days at a time? or for how long should I continue a fast?
Thanks in advance for the feedback
Claudia
